In an ideal world, I would have oodles of time each morning to spend getting ready. The fact is, I don’t. There are lots of positives to being a mum, but one down side is having to get myself and two very early risers ready and out of the door by 7:30 five days a week. Easier said than done. (It should actually by 7:15 but I’ve given up hope that I’ll ever achieve that target!)
Because of this, I’m always on the hunt for any beauty product that can save me time and make my life easier whilst still helping me to look my best. I love using products that are multi-purpose, or help to speed up my daily getting ready time so that I can spend even longer in bed (albeit talking to the kids instead of dozing as those girls just love to get up early) but not compromising on my standards.
Panasonic Hair Dryer
I have long, thick curly hair. As does my eldest daughter and my youngest is well on her way to have long, thick curly hair. As much as I love our natural curls, they take quite a lot of time and effort to look after them. If I had the time, I’d wash my hair and leave it to air dry, but I just don’t have the kind of time.
This Panasonic hair dryer is top of my wish list for April as it will definitely reduce the time it takes my hair to dry with it’s Quick Dry Nozzle. This feature allows the Panasonic Hair Dryer to alternate between strong and soft flows of air which separates strands of hair and therefore allows it to dry much more quickly. This is ideal for busy mums like myself, because who doesn’t need more time in the morning?
I almost always wear my hair curly so was pleased to see that this hair dryer also comes with a diffuser which will enable me to dry my curls quickly but without creating frizz. Again, saving me even more time by not needing to add extra frizz-reducing products on top and leaving me more time for my contouring!
The Panasonic Hair Dryer also contains nano technology which mean that as you are drying, ultra-fine nano particles are released and deeply penetrate the hair cuticles. This helps to maintain perfect moisture levels in your hair, keeping it looking shiny and healthy. Just what my curly hair needs to look amazing.
The Panasonic Hair Dryer is priced at £109.99 and is available here.
Burt’s Bees Lipstick
I am so dehydrated as quite frankly I never drink enough water. I love sipping on ice cold lemon water, it’s all the trips to the loo that I don’t like! As a result, my skin and lips are permanently dehydrated. I love Burt’s Bees products, especially their hand and foot creams which smell gorgeous, are 100% natural and are deeply moisturising, so I was excited to try these lipsticks which the brand says give full coverage and 8 hours of moisture. If it worked, I could ditch the lip balm from my makeup bag and save myself money and time.
I came across this lipstick when I was randomly browsing in town and I’m glad that I did.I tried the shade Wine Wave which is a deep berry colour and a departure from my usual red or nude. Burt’s Bee claim that that lipstick is a full-coverage lipstick, and I would agree. It is very pigmented and gives a nice sheen. It could be worn as a light, sheer wash of colour or layered for a more opaque finish. I’ve worn it both ways and the colour looks so pretty. Longevity is good too. It lasted about 4/5 hours before I needed to reapply but what I did like about it was that it wore so evenly that it looked like a pretty lip stain. Really, I could’ve got away without reapplying but I wanted a stronger colour.
Burt’s Bees lipstick comes in a range of 18 different shade including pinks, nudes and reds. I’ve got my eye on Suede Splash (nude), Sunset Cruise (dusky pink) and Scarlet Soaked (my trusty red lip) this spring.
Burt’s Bees Lipsticks are retail at £9.99 and are available here. Use the code BBLIPSTICK25 for 25% off by 01/06/17.
NYX Bright Ideas Illuminating Stick
I’ve recently done a NYX haul – more of that to come later in the month – but this was my favourite product from that haul. The Bright Ideas Illuminating Stick is a range of cream bronzers, blushers and highlighters in an easy to use stick form. The formulation is soft and creamy but also highly pigmented. I bought the Rose Petal Pop shade and expected it to be a light subtle pink. When I swatched it, it was bright but still a wearable and pretty colour.
I liked how easy this was to use. I just applied the colour directly onto my face and blended it out with my fingers. I wanted to have quite a sheer colour, as that day I had a heavy eye look, and this was easy to achieve. As the colour is quite pigmented, I would just apply a little more if I wanted a stronger look and build the colour up. This would save me so much time on a busy weekday and I am quite interested in trying the bronzers and highlighters too!
NYX Bright Ideas Illuminating Stick retails for £7.50 and is available here.
