January has been a really busy month for me. I’ve had lots going on so I haven’t had the chance to experiment with my make up as much as I would usually like to. This means that all of my favourites this month are lipsticks! But if I’m honest, lipsticks are my absolutely favourite make up product anyway and can completely transform a look from dull to glamorous. So here are my most worn lipsticks this month:
Tom Ford Lips and Boys Matte Lipstick in Cristiano.
I received this for Christmas from my mum and it’s so lovely. It’s an orangey-toned red and to be honest, not a shade I had tried before. I usually wear blue-toned reds.
However, I like it on me. Like all Tom Ford lipsticks, it goes on so smoothly and is highly pigmented. Cristiano lasts for a while which really impressed me.
It is a smaller size than my other Tom Ford Lipsticks, but this is reflected in the price and this retails for £29.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Revlon Red and Black Cherry
Before buying these last week, the only other Revlon lipstick that I had used was Cherries in the Snow and I love that. It’s one of my all-time favourite lipsticks. I was browsing Superdrug last week and saw that Revlon had an offer to buy one get one half price so thought I’d treat myself.
Revlon Red is a typical favourite for me and a blue-toned red whilst Black Cherry is a deep plum colour. I like both colours and have used them quite a bit. Again they go on smoothly and have a slight sheen. They are actually quite comfortable to wear.
For an £8 lipstick they last reasonably well but both need to be reapplied after a meal. Though if I’m honest, I do that as a rule anyway so it’s not too much of a hardship. I was impressed with them.
Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks in Carina’s Love and Night Orchid
Anyone who follows me on Instagram will know that Carina’s Love is second only to my children at the moment, I love it that much. It’s also my signature blue-toned red lipstick colour but it is so, so pretty. It’s incredibly moisturising, so comfortable to wear and gives a lovely sheen. Night Orchid however, is a deep, plummy colour and is similar to Black Cherry.
The formulation of the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks is amazing. They last so long and I wore Carina’s Love all Saturday without reapplying, to test it and when I arrived home, even after eating it has faded nicely and evenly so then looked like a pretty stain rather than a patchy lipstick. I am in love! The Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are priced at £23 and if you include the fact the gold packaging is so elegant and looks amazing in your make up bag, I think they are well worth it!
Do you have any favourite products this month? I’d be interested to hear what they are!
