I know I keep mentioning it (I can’t help it – it’s taking over my life!) but I’m moving house in less two weeks. I hate packing and can not wait for it to be over as frankly, I hate everything about moving house. It’s just a complete nightmare so I’m trying to pack the bare minimum and start again with a minimalism theme in my new home instead of my current theme of not so secret hoarder. Because of this, I really didn’t want to have to pack all of the open products in my bathroom especially as being the beauty product hoarder that I am, I had a fair few. And I’m not the type to be too wasteful, so I decided to use them up before the move and personally I think I’ve done a pretty good job as this mammoth post contains over 17 empties! Fingers crossed that you make it to the end!
Bath and Body Products
I absolutely love Ted Baker products. The packaging is pretty and the products smell so beautiful. I was lucky enough to receive a lot of these products for Christmas and my birthday so I’ve had to indulge in a lot of bubble baths to get them used up in time for the big move. The life of a beauty blogger is obviously hard! The other products that I’ve had to use up have been Soap and Glory. I know they have a huge following, but I’m quite new to using Soap and Glory products and only picked up a few things to try when Boots has a special offer over Christmas. So far, despite hating the bright pink packaging, I quite like the products inside Using them up wasn’t a chore!
Ted Baker Body Lotion Pretty Pearl
This is a lightweight lotion and the fragrance is beautiful, and I found that this was perfect to wear in the morning to help layer the fragrance and to help it last for the whole day. As lovely as it smelt, it just wasn’t moisturising enough for me to use regularly as I tend to prefer a heavier moisturiser at nighttime when I have the time to let it soak in.
Ted Baker Body Wash Pretty Pearl
This had the same gorgeously floral scent as the previous body lotion so I often layered them. It’s a little moisturising and leaves a light fragrance on the skin. It’s a pretty good body wash that does exactly what it says on the tin.
Ted Baker Shimmer Body Wash Pretty Pearl
This was pretty much exactly the same as the other body wash except that the product itself was gold and sparkly. The shimmer didn’t really transfer onto my skin when using the body wash which was a shame.
Ted Baker Bubble Bath
I liked this because it smells gorgeous, produced a lot of bubbles and looks pretty on my bathroom shelf. The only downside to this is that it’s so thick which made it a little difficult to get out of the glass container.
The Righteous Butter Creamy Body Wash 3-in-1 Cleanse Shave and Moisturise
This has to be my favourite of all the Soap and Glory products that I have tried. It’s simply amazing. I love the fact that it is a multi-purpose product (who doesn’t love to save time?) and it does exactly what it says it will. I used it to shave my legs and it left them feeling extremely soft and moisturised. I will definitely be repurchasing.
The Scrub Of Your Life Body Scrub
I neither loved or hated this. It was just okay and did a decent job of exfoliating my skin. I tend to prefer exfoliating bars to be honest, so I was never going to love this. Bonus points for the fragrance though. Soap and Glory products smell amazing.
I have the attention span of a flea so I often chop and change my skincare products. It’s very rare that I get to finish anything if I’m honest because I tend to get bored and move onto the next product!
Naobay Equilibra Gel To Milk Cleanser
I received a full-size sample of this in one of my beauty boxes, I just really can’t remember which! It was a bright yellow gel that when mixed with water turned into a gentle cleansing milk. I loved it for cleaning my face in the morning but I didn’t feel that it did a good enough job of cleaning my face after wearing makeup.
Garnier Skin Active Oil-Infused Micellar Water
I bought this as my skin was rather dry for a while and I needed to use as many moisturising products as possible. I liked it. You shake it up first to mix the oil and water and the resulting combination felt more pampering than a standard micellar water. I could get most of my makeup off with one cotton pad soaked in this product and will most likely repurchase.
Dermologica Special Cleansing Gel
This was another product that I just didn’t love. It felt like a very basic cleanser and to be honest, I couldn’t for the life of me understand why I’d paid £46 for it. It did the job but I have used other much more affordable products that did exactly the same job for a much more purse-friendly price. This did however last for ages and easily took me nearly a year to finish.
Ps… Priming Water
I love, love, love this! It was the bargain price of £2.50 and it is one of the best priming waters that I’ve tried. It does have quite a floral scent but I don’t mind that to be honest (you might have gathered that I have a bit of a penchant for scented products) and considering it’s such a bargain price, I can live with a floral scent.
This almost never happens! I finish foundation fairly regularly but the other products were sadly destroyed by my 3 year old when she decided that she wanted to wear makeup too. RIP to my lipstick and lip balm.
Clinique Beyond Perfecting foundation and concealer 2 in 1
I’ve written a more detailed review post of this foundation before so I won’t repeat myself and bore you all with the details. I’m not the biggest fan of this foundation and it’s taken an absolute age to finish my second bottle but I finally have!
Mac Studio Fix
If I remember correctly, I’m pretty sure that I finished one of these on my first ever empties post. It’s my go-to foundation and I nearly always have one in stock. I love that is both long-lasting and full-coverage making it perfect for long work days. I’ll almost certainly repurchase, I always do.
Nivea Lip Butter Raspberry Rose
Who ever actually finishes a lip balm?! Especially those that you have to apply with your fingers? This smells gorgeous and is so moisturising that my 3 year old just had to smear it all over herself. If I didn’t have a ridiculous amount of lip balms all over the place, I’d be gutted.
Trifle Cosmetic Lipstick
I loved this! Another amazing beauty subscription box product. It was a lovely matte, true red, again until my toddler got hold of it. If I didn’t have so many red lipsticks, I would most certainly replace this.
And yes, I have now moved my makeup away from little hands.
I’m quite funny about what I use on my natural hair. As any curly girl will know, hair wash day can take a whole day of multiple products and air drying. Building a regime I’m happy with has taken what feels like forever. I’m usually quite loyal to hair products and use them quite liberally so I am forever finishing products – especially when you factor in my two mini curly girls.
Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl and Shine conditioner
I’m a huge Shea Moisture fan and have used this Coconut and Hibiscus conditioner for years until recently when I didn’t seem to get the same effect. I’m not sure if the formula has changed or if my hair has changed but it just doesn’t seem to moisturise my hair in the same way anymore. I used it up on the girls as their hair is of a slightly different texture to mine and it seemed to work much better on their hair than on mine.
Shea Moisture Argan Oil and Almond Smooth & Tame Shampoo and Conditioner
I tried this when the Coconut and Hibiscus range stopped working for me, and I love it. My hair is slowly getting to be less dry and less prone to breakage. I can even see a healthy shine coming back. The Argan Oil and Almond range gets bonus points for the gorgeous scent.
Forest and Shore Hallelujah Hair Oil (Olive, Sesame, Coconut, Arnica, Rosemary and Lavender oil)
I was sent this by a PR rep for Forest and Shore and I used it on both myself and the girls as a hot oil treatment prior to washing our hair. It did help to restore moisture and shine to my hair but I couldn’t help but be reminded of the garlic and rosemary roast potatoes that The Boy makes. Don’t get me wrong, I like to eat them but I do not want to walk around smelling like a roast dinner.
And I’m done! Well done you if you have managed to get to the end of that mammoth post! That was a clearly a lot of empties that have been collecting in my spare drawer for a few months. I’m wondering what I can finish next!
Indulge me, I’m nosy! What have you finished up lately? Let me know in the comments.
